Massage therapy focuses on soft tissue manipulation to enhance muscle performance and promote relaxation of the body’s nervous system. It’s a natural form of therapy that promotes healing, circulation, and waste reduction in tissues.
All of our RMTs have completed a diploma program and are in good standing with the College of Massage Therapy of BC.
Massage therapy is covered by most extended health plans. Your RMT will help determine an appropriate treatment plan for you based on your goals. If have an ICBC claim, you are entitled to 12 massage therapy visits with a user fee charge.

Many extended health plans cover some massage therapy treatment. You need to check your plan to see what is covered and for how much. Anything not covered by your plan will need to be paid in full at the time of the appointment.
Bring a pair of shorts if you are having your low back, hips, or legs worked on. If you are having your upper body, neck, shoulders worked on, we prefer shirts and bras off if you are comfortable with that.
Every patient and every condition is different. Your RMT will work with you to figure out a treatment plan that works for you, your schedule, and your needs.
YES! If are unable to lie on your stomach, each RMT will work with you to find a comfortable position from which they can still access areas needing treatment. We can treat you lying on your side, your back and even in sitting!
Many massage therapists like to use deep pressure or “deep tissue massage” to release muscle tension, however, the massage therapists at City Sports + Physio will always provide client-centred treatment. Therefore, we will communicate with you before, during, and after your appointment to provide massage treatment that is within your comfort level.
