Sydney is a practicing Kinesiologist with the BC Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She is motivated to help the community to stay active and strong. Not only is she passionate about strength training physically, but also about staying healthy mentally. Sydney uses a holistic, movement based approach to help patients work towards pain-free, quality living. As a former athlete, Sydney understands the importance of quality movement and guides clients through techniques to improve their overall movement abilities and posture.
Sydney obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree at the University of the Fraser Valley, with an extended minor in psychology. During this time, she worked as a personal trainer and competed in Powerlifting competitions to gain a better knowledge-base for helping others. She has worked with various individuals and fitness levels, from sport-based coaching to helping those recover from injuries. She currently helps patients recover from motor vehicle ICBC accidents through active rehabilitation treatment. Sydney also coaches youth in strength and conditioning with dryland training, online, with a Vancouver local swim team.
Sydney plans on furthering her education and qualifications to enhance her abilities to care for patients. She is continuously searching for resources or strategies that will help patients overcome barriers and strive toward healthy, active living. Sydney also values an active lifestyle and loves taking part several activities such as biking, snowboarding, hiking, swimming and weightlifting.
