Prevent injuries this September before you get back into your exercise routine!
Even if you’re no longer a student, the start of the school year usually initiates the return to routine. Without the interruption of summer travel plans and holidays, work and exercise routines, including club and team sports, start up again.
Unfortunately, with the return to physical activities, such as playing on a sports team or getting back into running, comes the risk of injury. After a two to three month hiatus, your body may not be quite as ready as you are to jump back in to where you left off last spring. With that in mind, it is important to take preventative measures to help ease your body back into your exercise routine, in order to prevent unnecessary injuries. Making an appointment with one of our sports based physiotherapists is a great place to start!
With our Fit to Play Assessment, our team will be able to identify any weaknesses your body may have that would put you at risk for injury within your designated sport or recreational activity. Your assessment will be of your entire body so that nothing will be missed, and we will provide you with an exercise program, specific to your body’s needs, to ensure that you will have that great start to the new season that you’ve been looking forward to! With the assistance of the exercises that we provide you with, you may also find that you excel in your performance on the field, track, or wherever your sport or exercise routine may take you.
